Rebrief

Privacy policy

Rebrief keeps your meeting content on your Mac. This policy explains the limited information Appssemble processes when you use Rebrief, visit this website or contact support.

Who is responsible

Rebrief is developed and operated by Appssemble, based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Appssemble is the data controller for the information described in this policy. Contact: [email protected].

Your meeting content

Audio, transcripts, meeting notes, Ask questions and answers, speaker names and the local meeting index are stored and processed on your Mac. They are not sent to Appssemble or to our analytics provider.

If you export content or connect Rebrief to software you choose, the recipient receives only what you direct Rebrief to provide. Rebrief does not operate a cloud account, sync service or team workspace for your meetings.

Information we process

When usage analytics is enabled, Rebrief sends pseudonymous product and reliability events. The identifier is random and is not derived from your Apple Account, hardware serial number, Mac name or an App Store transaction.

Analytics may include:

  • app, operating-system and analytics SDK versions;
  • locale, release channel, unlock status, enabled settings and model availability;
  • the number of meetings as a broad range, never the exact count;
  • feature actions, operation outcomes and durations;
  • error domains, numeric error codes and reasons selected from a fixed list;
  • a pseudonymous reference when an event relates to a meeting.

Analytics never includes meeting audio or text, titles, speaker or group names, file paths, free-text error messages, crash dumps, screen recordings, your Mac name, its hardware serial number or a precise location.

The analytics provider necessarily receives the source IP address of a network request, as any internet service does, but Rebrief does not add it to analytics data and instructs the provider not to derive a location from it. An identity request may also include an SDK-generated device identifier and your time zone.

If you email support, we process your email address, your message and anything you choose to attach so we can respond.

Why we process it

We use product and reliability analytics to understand which features are used, diagnose failures and improve Rebrief. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the product. The analytics is limited, pseudonymous and can be switched off at any time.

We process support messages to answer your request and provide support. Purchase and entitlement information is processed as needed to provide the product you purchased. We may also process information when required to comply with law or protect legal rights.

We do not use this information for advertising, sell it, build marketing profiles or make automated decisions about you.

Your analytics choice

Usage analytics is on by default. The choice is shown during setup before analytics is installed. You can turn it off at any time in Settings, Privacy and Permissions, Usage analytics.

Turning analytics off records that the setting was disabled, sends any events already waiting to be sent, then stops future collection and deletes the local analytics identifier. Turning it on again creates a new identifier that cannot be linked by Rebrief to the previous one.

Retention

Meeting content remains on your Mac until you delete it. Appssemble does not hold a server copy.

Analytics events are retained under the analytics service's retention settings only for as long as needed to compare releases, investigate reliability and improve the product. Turning analytics off does not automatically delete events already received.

Support correspondence is kept for as long as needed to resolve the request and meet reasonable business or legal record-keeping needs.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or receive a copy of your personal data, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. To exercise a right, contact [email protected]. We normally respond within one month.

Rebrief has no account and analytics is not linked to your name or email. We may need the relevant analytics identifier to locate a record, and may be unable to identify data as yours without it.

Security

Rebrief minimizes what leaves your Mac and limits analytics to predefined fields. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no system or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Rebrief or its data practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be communicated through the app or website when appropriate.
